Hi, I’m Sara! I’m an Atlanta-based, interdisciplinary researcher-advocate studying sexual and reproductive health (SRH) in the United States.

Trained in health policy, health services research, and social science, I explore structural determinants of access to and use of comprehensive SRH care and downstream health outcomes. I focus particularly on state-level SRH policy analyses, health equity, and multilevel SRH stigma and mis/disinformation. I employ a socioecological framework and reproductive justice lens to my work, paying particular attention and devotion to SRH equity and, as a Georgia native, the experiences of those living in the U.S. South. I also work closely with local and national reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations to support and conduct community-led and community-driven SRH research.

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Behavioral, Social, and Health Education Sciences and the Director of Research Translation with the Center for Reproductive Health Research in the Southeast (RISE) at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.

I am also available for consulting work!
